Description:

Role Summary: Represents the State/Government in criminal trials, presenting the prosecution's case against the accused in the court of law.

• Key Responsibilities: Represents the State/Government in criminal trials. Responsible for conducting the prosecution by presenting evidence, examining and cross-examining witnesses, and delivering final legal arguments. Ensures that all legal procedures are strictly followed during the trial process and advises the investigation agencies (Police) during the inquiry phase.

• Ed. Qualification: LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws).

• Experience: Minimum 3–7 years of standing at the Bar (practice as an Advocate) is typically required for appointment as an APP or PP. This requirement varies by state and rank.

• Age Limit: 25–45 Years (Varies based on experience requirement and state rules).

• Selection Process: State Public Service Commission (PSC) Exam or Direct Recruitment on Contract. Written Law Test (Criminal Law, Evidence Act, CrPC). Interview (Assessing Courtroom Skills and Advocacy).
