Role Summary: The highest clinical and administrative authority in a district/large government hospital, responsible for overall patient care, staff management, and public health compliance.

  • Key Responsibilities: Oversees patient care standards, manages the entire medical and paramedical staff allocation, controls the hospital's operational budget, and ensures strict compliance with all public health protocols. Acts as the official advisor to the district administration on public health matters.

  • Ed. Qualification: MBBS + MD/MS in a clinical discipline or an M.D. in Community Medicine/Hospital Administration.

  • Experience: Minimum 15–20 years of clinical and administrative experience, with significant service in government health institutions.

  • Age Limit: Typically 45–58 Years (Senior Executive Post).

  • Selection Process: Promotion/Deputation from State Health Service. Board Interview (focusing on Public Health Management and Policy). Confidential Report Assessment.
