Role Summary: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Municipal Council, responsible for city administration, budget, policy execution, and coordination with the State Government.
Key Responsibilities: Oversees all aspects of city administration, manages the overall municipal budget and finances. Enforces compliance with state and central urban development policies and directs all departmental heads (Engineering, Health, Planning). Acts as the main liaison between the elected council and the government.
Ed. Qualification: Graduate degree in any stream. Often an officer deputed from the State Civil Services (PCS/IAS) cadre.
Experience: Requires significant administrative and executive experience in public service (minimum 10-15 years) within the government framework.
Age Limit: Varies based on the officer's service cadre rules, typically 40–55 Years (Senior Executive Post).
Selection Process: Deputation/Transfer from State Cadre. Assessment by the State Appointment Committee and subsequent government notification.
